Middle Tennessee State University Students
I think this community is kind of dead, but I thought I'd try anyway. |
I'm disabled, and it's become pretty much impossible for me to take classes on campus right now. I was looking at RODP classes, but I don't understand anything about them at all. I was hoping there might be someone in this community who might have experience with these types of classes who could help me out with a few questions?
How do I become enrolled in them and does my loan cover those kinds of classes?
Is it still 12 hours to equal full-time?
Do they start and stop at different dates than regular classes?
Do I ever have to go to campus at all?
Do they count towards regular majors (Is English Literature I the same as British Literature I, for example)?
If anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it.
From what I understand, RODP classes count the same as regular classes in regards to enrollment hours (which would mean they do count towards your loans), credit towards graduation, and they have the same dates as the regular term (so no half-spring online courses). If you have to go to campus at all, I think it MIGHT be for the final... which is probably online anyway.
I'd check with school officials first, but that's the way I understand them.
Thank you! (There was something on Raidernet that referred to something like "full semester period OR RODP," which confused me.)
i am an accounting major and while there are no acct classes online, i was able to take lots of the general business classes online, some (maybe all?) of which were rodp classes. they were no different than any other online class ive ever taken. the hours count the same as non-rodp classes and they follow the regular mtsu calendar. whether or not you have to go to campus depends on the prof and class (i.e. you may have to go for midterm/final). i dont know anything about the disabled services at mtsu but they should accommodate you for the test.
also...you enroll in them the same way you enroll in every other class at mtsu (through RaiderNet)
id suggest talking with the secretary in the major of your choice. thats what i did when i first enrolled in online classes.
Oh, whoops, didn't see this other comment. I planned on calling tomorrow, but I think I'll see if I can go sign up now on RN.
Thank you for responding!
How do I actually enroll in the classes? When you signed up, did you just punch in the numbers via Raidernet, or did you have to go up to campus and sign forms or something?
